Unconscious Mistakes Women Make That Sabotage Their Careers.

Author: Lois P. Frankel, PhD

Nice Girls Still Don’t Get the Corner Office, encourages you to look at different aspects of how women are looked at and the historical reasons why women act the way we do.  It is relatable to situations each of us deals with everyday.  It brings up the hard conversations and areas that well, women need to look at and possibly change what we are doing or how we are reacting.  It also talks about celebrating women and the truth that men and women will never be the same, so work on our skills and use that skill set to shine.

It is set up like a workbook which is nice because you can focus on reading the particular areas that pertain to you first.  Then read the other chapters later.  It offers coaching tips in each chapter that I found very helpful.

This is definitely a book that you can reference back to throughout your career to fine hone your tool box.

Books we loved this month:

Deep and Deliberate Delegation by Dave Stitt

Deep and Deliberate Delegation provides a road map for solving the problems created by new technology, employee turnover, and firefighting at any level of management. The author describes delegation as a “lost art” that we need to re-learn and prioritize if we are to avoid burnout and status quo organizations.

Each chapter enlightens and reminds us of the importance of reflection, relationships and accountability.  Multiple levels of delegation and techniques for implementation are detailed and easy to follow.  The exercises and ideas take hold in the very first chapter building excitement for the breakthrough to come!
