In 2019, the organization dubbed Women of Flexo, or WoF, was formed by the Flexographic Technical Association and given life by the number of women in the flexographic industry. What started as a desire for women in the industry to have a place to turn to for resources and encouragement has blossomed into an accomplished and empowering organization for women over the course of 2020. As we wrap up this atypical year, we want to take a moment to look back on all of the hard work our committees have put in to make WoF successful and how we’re going to continue to grow into 2021.

This year, we swapped out our in-person Lunch and Learn events for virtual webinars where guest hosts covered topics such as sexual harassment in the workplace and how to be assertive, intentional and authentic. Each webinar provided valuable information and a safe place to ask important questions.

“I always look forward to the webinars from the Women of Flexo, they’re really great content,” said Kara Wojnowski from Dunn Paper, a member of WoF. “It’s refreshing to hear them talk about the ‘taboo’ topics or things that we as women all experience in the workplace but might never mention to others.”

The four WoF committees — Leadership Diversity, Marketing, Mentorship, and Recruitment — have all been busy this year with projects of their own. The Mentorship group has cultivated a great group of ladies to mentor young professionals within the flexo industry. The Marketing team has been increasing brand awareness for Women of Flexo and creating content to keep members engaged. Recruitment had the opportunity to connect with universities around the U.S. to recruit college graduates who are in need of a mentor. Leadership Diversity has progressed in connecting female role models in the industry to speaking engagements, also working to highlight them within the WoF group.

We are so proud of the community that the Women of Flexo organization has created and the environment for women to speak openly about their achievements as well as their struggles. If 2020 was any indication, 2021 is going to be another amazing year for WoF. We can’t wait to share more female successes and empowering content for years to come.
