The Power of Mentorship Through Women of Flexo

In a rapidly evolving industry like flexographic printing, navigating your career path can feel overwhelming, especially for students and young professionals just starting out. Mentorship provides invaluable support by offering guidance, perspective, and encouragement. Helping women of the industry build confidence, grow professionally, and navigate challenges with the insight of someone who has been there before. That’s why the Women of Flexo Mentorship Program exists, to ensure women in the flexo industry have access to guidance, support and community.

A Guided Path

The Women of Flexo Mentorship Program pairs women early in their careers or new to the industry with experienced professionals who understand the unique challenges and challenges within the industry.

How it works:

• Applications open in the summer, with the program officially beginning in August.
• One-on-one mentorship continues through May of the following year, allowing time for meaningful growth and connection.
• Mentees are supported every step of the way through regular check-ins, mentor guidance, and networking opportunities tailored to their personal interests and career goals.

The heart of the mentorship program lies in the relationships it fosters. One powerful example comes from Lauren Zabel, a student mentee who took part in the 2022–2023 session:

“Hearing the experiences of my mentors and how they have navigated through the male-dominated flexo industry was inspiring. It encouraged me to seek career opportunities outside of my comfort zone. During the program, we did things like interview prep and group talks with a recruiter in the flexo field. My mentors also reviewed my portfolio and LinkedIn account and gave me tips to make them more attractive to potential employers.”
